Diversity and Inclusion are topics of high importance and on many agendas today; private, public and civil society alike. For many Swedish companies, principles of diversity are at the core of their value system. Strategies and practical implementation differ depending on culture and context. Our reality is a multicultural environment that can create a field of tension but also be the soil in which creative solutions are birthed, mindsets are opened to be challenged and transformed and ways of working reengineered.

With an emphasis on holistic growth, we have started #ENLARGE with the purpose of taking on the D&I agenda strategically for Swedish companies in India can contribute in a field of crucial importance. We start with a focus on gender as equality and equity are crucial quests for the future and imperative to take seriously to build and develop successful and sustainable companies as well as societies.

In our first meeting on Feb 1, organized in collaboration with IKEA we recognized that strong HR policies are very much in place yet the numbers do not reflect well when it comes to the inclusion of women in positions of power at the workplace nor in terms of diversity. We know from the Business Climate Survey that only 1 out of 5 employees in the Swedish companies is a woman, while 8 out of 10 companies are actively working with gender diversity.

Our next discussion will take up “Compensation & Benefits from a D&I perspective”. Business Sweden’s Vice President – HR, Carl Esselin will the guest speaker at the Forum and the objectives are to:

• Share best practices and challenges with current policies amongst companies

• Discuss how we can highlight the D&I perspective in our policies and common ground

Join us to take this agenda further. We look forward to hearing your company’s best practices.
