INDIA VS. EUROPE: ECONOMIC SUSTAINABILITY AND PROLONGED STAGNATION

Monday, 3rd October 2016 09.00 hrs - 11.00 hrs
SANDVIK OFFICE, PUNE

India is now the fastest growing big economy in the world. What does it take to make this growth sustainable – i.e inclusive and environmentally friendly? And why is Europe stagnating? Can its woes be resolved – or is Europe facing a dire future?

The Swedish Chamber of Commerce India in collaboration with SEB and Sandvik is pleased to invite you to a discussion with world-renowned Economist, Mr. Klas Eklund.

Klas Eklund is the Senior Economist Sustainability of SEB, one of Sweden’s leading banks. He has previously worked as the bank’s Chief Economist, as Under-secretary of state at the Ministry of Finance, Advisor to the Prime Minister of Sweden and to the President of the European Commission. He has chaired several Government Commissions focused on growth, jobs and productivity.  He is the author of the best-selling Swedish text-book in economics – as well as the author of a financial thriller about murder in the Ministry of Finance.

Join us for an invigorating discussion, drawing upon two very different economies and their future.
