“Kraftsamla” is an initiative by the Chamber with active support from the Consulate General in Mumbai. It means “to gather your forces” and is a collaborative project on women empowerment and equality in the workforce involving CSR and business operations. In the Chamber’s AGM in May it was decided that a pilot would be launched in Pune during this fall. We believe that as a community we can work for (e)quality and integrated growth.

During the last months, the Consulate General in Mumbai conducted a mapping amongst Swedish companies in Pune on current engagements and areas needed to address. The study shows that many companies want to collaborate in these areas, share best practices and find synergies.

“Kraftsamla” will focus on three main areas- Skills & Employment, Value chain & Code of Conduct and lastly Equality in the Workforce. We are partnering with UN agencies, the Maharashtra Government, NSDC, non-governmental organisations and other key stakeholders to ensure a lasting impact.

We will start with the Skills & Employment component and plan to launch training programs for women under the scope of CSR. UNDP will join us for the discussion to clarify the model (Disha) that will be used, experiences and roles involved. The idea is to train for employment, not only skills and participating companies are expected to actively seek opportunities for employment throughout their value chain.

On Nov 17 we meet in Sandvik (SMT Hall, G-building) @9:00-14:00 (ending with lunch) to kick-off the work and therefore invite representatives from companies to join that want to take an active part of the “Kraftsamla” program.
